Oh oui… longtemps…

Ce titre, c’est “YANnnnK$$$ (Life i$ Not Fun)“, une sorte de morceau de garage punk qui rencontre l’esprit slacker / surfer de la Californie. Si Redbull donne des ailes, “YANnnnK$$$ (Life i$ Not Fun)” offre un ticket de deltaplane.

*********
Dr Chan is a French garage band which has already occupied several articles on Still in Rock. He released a very good first LP a few months ago that will soon be found in the end-of-year rankings of Still in Rock (what a suspense).
(if you click, you’ll like it)
But Dr Chan is one of those bands which are capable of a real mutation. What he had done so far is especially good for the following reason: a few seconds of any of its songs is enough to identify it. Few bands can finally boast about it. Well, Dr. Chan has continued its work in this direction and is about to release a big hit that is about to smash the entire anthill of the French garage scene by further strengthening its singularity. Yes, Dr Chan is coming to kick our little asses, and we like it.
Now, all this is very beautiful, but it’s even better with a little appetizer. Today article is indeed the occasion to reveal in intergalactic exclusively the first single / first video of the band second album, named $outh$ide $uicide, which I am happy to announce will be released on February 24 via Stolen Body Records (house of Brown Brogues, Os Noctàmbulos and much more). And I say “happy” because I had the chance to listen to this LP and it is… masterful, for sure one of the biggest slaps I’ve taken from a French project in a long time…
That song is called “YANnnnK$$$ (Life i$ Not Fun)“, a kind of punk garage that meets the slacker / surfing spirit of California. If Redbull gives wings, “YANnnnK$$$ (Life i$ Not Fun)” then offers a deltaplane ticket. Nervous, fun and intense, it features the production of Ty Segall’s album dedicated to T-Rex (read), as does the rest of the album which also has a twist of a hip hop in its phrasing. This track also is one of the “pop” tunes of the album, the promise of a better world where Dr Chan would be played in all the supermarkets on the occasion of the Annual Purge that would have become daily. Alright, it’s time to leave you with the music. I’ll talk to you about it in more details very quickly.
